Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how MiiTv Inc. (“MiiTv”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), with its corporate offices located at 85 W Combs Rd. STE 101-109, San Tan Valley, Arizona 85140-9106, USA, collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use mii.tv and the MiiTv video-meeting platform (collectively, the “Services”). This Policy is part of, and should be read alongside, the MiiTv Terms of Service.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you give us directly, information generated by your use of the Services, and information from the third-party services that power specific features. We do not collect more than each feature actually needs to work.
1.1 Account Information
- Your email address and a display name, whether you sign up directly or via “Continue with Google” (Google OAuth) — we receive your Google account's email and basic profile, not your Google password.
- Your country and any timezone/locale settings you provide.
- An optional profile photo/avatar, if you add one.
1.2 Meeting and Scheduling Information
- Meetings you schedule: title, description, date/time, duration, price (if paid), and an optional room password.
- Bookings you make as an attendee: which meeting, when, and the status of your seat.
- Contacts you save and invitations you send or receive, including the invited email address.
- Messages you send through MiiTv's in-app messaging between a host and an attendee.
1.3 Payment and Financial Information
MiiTv never stores your full credit or debit card number. Card payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor; MiiTv only receives confirmation that a payment succeeded, its amount, and a reference identifier.
If you set up a way to receive payments directly (Zelle, Cash App, Email Money Transfer, or ACH bank transfer), we store the destination details you provide (such as an email, phone number, or $cashtag, and — for ACH — a bank routing and account number) so hosts can display them to a payer or so you can be paid out. Bank routing and account numbers are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) and are never shown back to you or anyone else in full plain text outside of what's needed to complete a payment.
If you request a payout of your MiiTv wallet balance, we collect the payout method details necessary to send it to you (e.g., a bank account), stored with the same encryption. We also keep a wallet ledger of your earnings, fees, and payouts so your balance and transaction history are accurate.
1.4 Identity Verification (KYC)
Before certain payout thresholds or features, we may ask you to verify your identity by uploading a selfie and a government-issued photo ID. These documents are used solely to confirm your identity and comply with our anti-fraud and “Know Your Customer” obligations. They are stored in encrypted cloud storage with restricted access and are not shared with other users.
1.5 Video Meetings and Recordings
Live video and audio during a meeting are transmitted through our video infrastructure (Jitsi) to the other participants in that meeting; MiiTv does not record or store the content of your call unless the host explicitly starts a recording. When a host records a meeting, the resulting video file is uploaded to our cloud storage and is visible to the host, who can choose whether to also share it with attendees who had a seat in that meeting. A host can delete a recording at any time, which also deletes the underlying file from storage.
1.6 Device and Usage Information
- Basic technical information such as browser type and IP address, used for security (e.g., detecting abuse) and to keep the Services working correctly.
- An activity log of significant account actions (such as sign-in, payment, or payout events) kept for security, fraud prevention, and support purposes.
- Notification preferences and the notifications we've sent you in-app.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the Services: creating and joining meetings, processing bookings and payments, sending invitations, and displaying your wallet balance.
- To communicate with you: transactional emails (via Mailgun) such as meeting invitations, receipts, reminders, and payout notifications, and in-app notifications.
- To verify identity and prevent fraud, money laundering, and abuse of the Services.
- To provide customer support and resolve disputes between hosts and attendees.
- To maintain the security and integrity of the Services, including detecting and preventing unauthorized access.
- To comply with legal obligations, such as recordkeeping requirements tied to payment processing.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your meeting content, recordings, or payment details for advertising.
3. How We Share Your Information
We share information only as needed to operate the Services, with the following categories of service providers, each acting on our behalf under their own security and confidentiality obligations:
- Stripe — to process card payments and, where applicable, run identity/tax checks required for payment processing.
- Backblaze B2 — cloud storage for uploaded files, including KYC documents and meeting recordings.
- Mailgun — to deliver transactional emails on our behalf.
- Jitsi (our video infrastructure provider) — to host the live audio/video connection during a meeting.
- Google — only if you choose to sign in with your Google account.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms of Service, to protect the rights, property, or safety of MiiTv, our users, or the public, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case we'll let you know before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy).
A meeting host can see the display name, email, and payment status of their own attendees, and — if enabled — the details of any payment method an attendee used to pay them. Attendees do not see other attendees' payment details.
4. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. Financial and transaction records (including wallet ledger entries and payout history) are retained for as long as required by applicable financial recordkeeping and tax laws, even after account closure. Meeting recordings are kept until the host deletes them or closes their account. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information, subject to our legal and financial recordkeeping obligations, by contacting support@mii.tv.
5. Data Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption of sensitive financial data (bank routing/account numbers, payout details) at rest, restricted access to identity verification documents, and industry-standard transport encryption (HTTPS/TLS) for data in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use a small number of essential cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember short-lived settings (such as a room password you've already entered, or your notification preferences). We do not use third-party advertising cookies or trackers to build an advertising profile of you.
7. Your Rights and Choices
- You can review and update your profile information at any time from your account settings.
- You can remove a saved contact, cancel a booking, or turn off sharing of a recording with attendees at any time.
- You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or request that we delete it (subject to the retention obligations described above), by emailing support@mii.tv.
- If you are located in a jurisdiction that grants additional statutory privacy rights (for example, access, correction, portability, or objection to certain processing), we will honor those rights to the extent required by applicable law — contact support@mii.tv to make a request.
8. Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Users between 13 and 17 may only use the Services under the supervision and consent of a parent or guardian, consistent with the Child Safety and Protection Policy in our Terms of Service. If we learn that we've collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will delete it. A parent or guardian may contact support@mii.tv to request deletion of a child's information.
9. International Data Transfers
MiiTv and the service providers described above may process and store information in countries other than the one you live in, including the United States and Canada. By using the Services, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in such countries, which may have data protection laws different from those in your own country.
10. Third-Party Services and Links
The Services rely on and may link to third-party services (such as Stripe's own checkout pages or Google's sign-in flow). Those third parties have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them; MiiTv is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services we don't operate ourselves.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on mii.tv and update the effective date below, and — where appropriate — notify you by email or in-app notification. Your continued use of the Services after a change becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
12. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your information, contact us at support@mii.tv or by mail at MiiTv Inc., 85 W Combs Rd. STE 101-109, San Tan Valley, Arizona 85140-9106, USA.
